Biography

Ian Springer is an American screenwriter best known for his long-time creative partnership with Jeff Kaplan. The two met at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and have collaborated as a writing duo for over a decade, developing a distinctive storytelling voice that blends humour, emotional depth, and a sense of the mythic. Their early work includes the 2013 indie comedy Bert and Arnie’s Guide to Friendship. This evolution culminated in their involvement with Marvel Studios, where they were brought on to develop the story treatment for The Fantastic Four: First Steps (2025). Both received a story and screenplay credit on the film.
