Biography
Murilo Simões holds a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from the State University of Campinas (Unicamp). At the moment he is an undergraduate student at the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), seeking a degree in Film Studies. Film Director, First Assistant Director and Editor. He directed the short-film “Deixe o Sol” (Let the Sun), which has been screened at the Sundown Film Fest, in Germany (2019), and in the “Cinemateca do MAM” (Museum of Modern Art’s Cinematheque), in Rio de Janeiro. Previously, he was an intern to film director Luiz Carlos Lacerda (Bigode) in the making of the TV series "Rua do Sobe e Desce Número que Desaparece", for “Canal Brasil” TV Channel. As a film critic for "Ganga Bruta” magazine, he covered the 21st and 22nd editions of the Tiradentes Film Festival. Simões was the curator of the Film Club “Película Livre” in Campinas, São Paulo. He also gave a lecture about “Cinema Marginal Movement” at "Festival Itajubense of Culture and Art "(FICA) in the state of Minas Gerais.
