Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but grew up in Freehold, New Jersey. he eventually made his way to Hollywood in the late 1920s. Shortening his name to Wheaton Chambers, he would go on to appear in over 200 film and television productions during a career that spanned roughly three decades.
