Synopsis

Summer break is over and it’s sophomore year for newly elected class president, Chad Amani. During the second season, Chad deals with a scandal that quickly ends his presidency, has a surprising new love interest, and gets a visit from his tough-as-nails Iranian grandmother -- all while continuing to worry about his popularity, and discovering new ways to relate to his Persian cultural roots. Chad’s epic path to teenage self-realization is not always a straight line, but the support from his family and best friend Peter keep Chad on track, giving him the confidence to help him become who he has always wanted to be: the most American boy in the history of the world.

Reeling from his school suspension, Chad is devastated to find that his mom has taken away all of his devices. On a downward spiral and in need of some serious guidance, Chad is sent to work at his Uncle Hamid's Persian rug store.

Chad becomes a peer helper to Mona, a new student from France who's also Persian. Chad tries to teach Mona how to navigate life in an American high school but winds up offending her, causing Chad to make a grand gesture to apologize.

Chad finds himself at odds with the school's beloved Spanish teacher. After the teacher confiscates a cherished item, Chad must try to get it back while walking the line between right and wrong.

Chad thinks Peter and Denise's relationship is moving too fast, so he tries to set some ground rules in order to slow them down. When those fail, Chad has to support Peter's big step toward adulthood.

Before a class trip to Vancouver, Chad learns he's not a US citizen. To help Chad avoid embarrassment, Hamid calls on an old friend. When plans go awry, Chad and Hamid must deal with the consequences.

On a class trip to the Vancouver Aquarium, Peter and Denise coach Chad on how to express his feelings to Mona, but when she shares her summer plans, Chad realizes he must act quickly to get his girl.
