Synopsis

Series 2 contains many episodes with a similar formula to Series 1, while others involve Dorothy and a friend leaving her home to perform a task, where they meet a guest star with whom they sing a song. Guests include Leo Sayer as a doctor, Troy Cassar-Daley as a librarian, and Don Spencer as a postman.

Episode 1

03 March 2008 - Vegetable Soup!

Dorothy the Dinosaur and Henry the Octopus visit John the Green Grocer. They find cheese and crackers and are introduced to the vegetable section. John makes everything sound so exciting and delicious that he even wants to sing about vegetables. First Dorothy gets zucchinis, tomatoes, onions, and some garlic and then sings and dances to Vegetable Soup.

04 March 2008 - Singing at the Library

Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wags the Dog visit the library where they meet Troy the singing librarian (multi-award winning Country Music singer, Troy Cassar-Daley), who helps them select books to read. Dorothy and Wags are ready to leave the library with their books but it is raining. Troy suggests that they sing and dance to the song I Love It When It Rains.

05 March 2008 - Captain Feathersword's Singing Lesson

Captain Feathersword joins Dorothy the Dinosaur when she does her singing lesson with her teacher David (opera singer David Hobson). David teaches them how to breathe like a singer and they practice arpeggios. He teaches Dorothy a song all about the names of ballet steps and they sing and dance to Ballerina, Ballerina.

06 March 2008 - Dorothy Visits Doctor Leo

Dorothy the Dinosaur goes for her yearly check-up to the doctor. Doctor Leo (pop music legend Leo Sayer) asks Dorothy to read the eye chart to test her eyes. He uses a stethoscope to listen to her heart and hears the blood pumping around her body. Then he asks Dorothy to stretch up and down and confirms that Dorothy is a very healthy dinosaur indeed! They sing and dance to the song At The Doctors.

07 March 2008 - Don the Postman

Don the Postman delivers the mail to Dorothy's house in Rosy Street. Dorothy invites Don inside for a pot of rosy tea and crumpets with rose petal jam! She then invites him out into her garden where he admires her beautiful roses. The Rosy Orchestra appears and Don sings his signature tune I'm The Postman.

10 March 2008 - Fairy Dancing

Dorothy the Dinosaur is very excited as her friends, Fairy Clare, Fairy Larissa, Fairy Lucia and little baby Fairy Maria are coming to visit. Dorothy notices that both Fairy Clare and Fairy Larissa are looking a little bit different, because they are wearing their beautiful/sparkly/glittery shiny dresses with intricate coloured pattern designs. Fairy Clare tells Dorothy that these are their Irish Dancing Fairy Dresses. After a pot of rosy tea they adjourn to the garden for some beautiful fairy dancing!

11 March 2008 - Captain Feathersword Goes to the Dentist

Dorothy the Dinosaur accompanies her friend Captain Feathersword as he goes for his regular check-up with Jane the Dentist. Jane puts on her gloves and uses her tiny dental mirror to check the Captain's teeth. He is a good pirate and gets a glowing report about his teeth. Dentist Jane, the Captain and Dorothy then sing Open Wide Look Inside At The Dentist.

12 March 2008 - Francis the Flower Seller

Dorothy the Dinosaur and Fairy Clare visit Francis the Flower Seller who tells them that he has something special to show them. They close their eyes and when they open them there are four large flowers that have come to life. They join Francis and sing and dance to The Dancing Flowers.

13 March 2008 - Dorothy's Singing Lesson

Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wags the Dog visit David the Singing Teacher for Dorothy's lesson. Wags watches as Dorothy practices breathing and her scales. Dorothy notices photographs of David in costumes from opera productions. He teaches Dorothy a song from a comic opera and she sings and dances to Dance A Cachuca.

14 March 2008 - Lettuce Sing

Dorothy the Dinosaur and Captain Feathersword visit John the Green Grocer's store. Dorothy has a shopping list of all the things she needs to buy, so that nothing is forgotten. John is very helpful with finding the milk, eggs and vegetables. He joins the Captain and Dorothy as they sing and dance to Lettuce Sing.

17 March 2008 - Miss Rachael's Dancing Lesson

Miss Rachael teaches dancing and so Dorothy the Dinosaur joins Fairy Larissa and Fairy Clare for a dancing lesson. Miss Rachael shows the steps to a new dance from Italy. The song is called Balla, Balla Bambina and they all sing and dance together.

18 March 2008 - Dorothy Speaks Warramiri

Dorothy the Dinosaur welcomes a special guest to her home, her name is Gotha, and she is an elder from the Warramiri people. Gotha brings Dorothy some flowers from the north of Australia and teaches Dorothy some words in the Warramiri language. They sing and dance together to the song Ngalmam Djangu Godku Yumarrku.

19 March 2008 - Wags Gets a New Collar

Wags the Dog visits Dorothy for a cup of rosy tea and some tasty doggy treats. He's worried that he doesn't have a collar and a tag like other dogs and so Dorothy makes him a special tag. They sing and dance together to Dance A Cachuca.

20 March 2008 - Irish Dancing With the Fairies

Dorothy the Dinosaur is wearing green, white and orange ribbons, the colours of the Irish flag of Dublin, Ireland. She knows that Fairy Clare and Fairy Larissa will be doing some Irish dancing in their special/beautiful/sparkly/glittery Irish Dancing Fairy Dresses. Dominic and the Rosy Orchestra play Bucket Of Dew/Paddy Condon From Cobar, while Dorothy, Fairy Clare and Fairy Larissa dance around her rosy garden with Fairy Lucia and Fairy Maria.

21 March 2008 - Don the Postman Delivers a Parcel

Dorothy the Dinosaur loves getting mail. Don the Postman delivers to her a special parcel, what could be inside? He shares a cup of rosy tea with Dorothy and then sings and dances to Drinking Rosy Tea With Dorothy.

24 March 2008 - Captain Feathersword and the Hibiscus Flowers

Captain Feathersword the friendly pirate has been sailing around the world. He returns to visit Dorothy the Dinosaur and tells her about his trip to Tahiti. Dorothy loves the hibiscus flowers the Captain gives her as a gift. They sing and dance to Sing With Me.

25 March 2008 - Skipping With the Fairies

Dorothy the Dinosaur is visited by her fairy friends. After a lovely cup of rosy tea they visit the garden to skip on a rope, this gives them the idea to skip to music. Dominic and the Rosy Orchestra play Marie's Wedding and Dorothy and the fairies skip along.

26 March 2008 - Wags Takes Singing Lessons

Wags the Dog has a secret! He has been taking singing lessons. Dorothy is delighted to hear this as they can practice together, they sing some scales and arpeggios together. They join Dominic and the Rosy Orchestra in the garden and sing and dance to C'est Wags, C'est Bon.

27 March 2008 - I Look in the Mirror

Dorothy the Dinosaur visits Jane the Dentist for her regular check-up. Jane uses a small dental mirror to check her teeth. Dorothy has been a good dinosaur and kept her teeth clean. Jane the Dentist is inspired by her dental mirror to sing and dance to I Look In The Mirror.

28 March 2008 - Henry Visits Easter Island

Henry the Octopus visits Dorothy the Dinosaur after his travels to Easter Island. He shows Dorothy some beautiful photographs of the statues on Easter Island, while they share a cup of rosy tea. Dorothy and Henry sing and dance to the Seashell Barcarolle.

31 March 2008 - Dorothy's Tutu

Dorothy the Dinosaur loves her dancing lessons with Miss Rachael. She dons her ballet tutu and joins Fairy Clare and Fairy Larissa, as they go through some beautiful ballet steps, from first position to a dinosaur position! They all sing and dance to I Am A Dancer.

01 April 2008 - Orchestral Strings

Captain Feathersword visits Dorothy the Dinosaur and after a cup of rosy tea they go into Dorothy's garden. They meet Dominic and the Rosy Orchestra, who explain the differences between their instruments: the violin, the viola, the cello and a bouzouki. Having talked about instruments used by an orchestra, we then hear the Rosy Orchestra perform Teddy Bear Lullaby.

02 April 2008 - Dorothy Has a New Dancing Dress

Dorothy the Dinosaur is very excited and can not wait to show Fairy Clare, Fairy Larissa, Fairy Lucia and little Fairy Maria the dress she wants to wear when she is dancing. After a drink of rosy tea, she shows the fairies her dress and then she puts it to good use by dancing to My Name Is Dorothy (Come Dance With Me).

03 April 2008 - Jumping and Running

Captain Feathersword visits Dorothy the Dinosaur and enjoys a cup of rosy tea in her garden. He notices the emu and kangaroo topiaries, which have been carefully shaped. They inspire him to sing with Dorothy a song about a kangaroo, Come On Let's Jump.

04 April 2008 - Wake Up Wags

Wags the Dog had not got a proper sleep the night before his visit to Dorothy the Dinosaur. Wags was very tired and so Dorothy made a comfortable chair for him to rest in, while the Rosy Orchestra played a lullaby, The Dreaming Song. Wags woke up after his rest and was full of energy again.

07 April 2008 - George and His Bouzouki

Henry the Octopus visits Dorothy the Dinosaur wearing blue and white ribbons, as he's just returned from Greece. After a cup of rosy tea, they journey into the garden to see the Rosy Orchestra. Dominic explains the differences between playing the various instruments and notes that the bouzouki is from Greece. They sing and dance to a Greek song, Aspri Mera Ke Yia Mas.
