01 January 1992 - Crystal Clear It's Murder
When a dead Englishman is discovered dumped in Dieppe, a receipt leads Inspector Maurice Sardou to Gladys Moon and her son Trevor. It appears that Gladys, too, has been attacked, and police quickly arrest a student. Trevor believes this is a mistake, as he's sure Gladys's attacker used a toy gun; the murder weapon, however, is soon recovered, and it's real – and lethal – enough. In England, Trevor links the dead man to alleged corruption by contractors building the Channel Tunnel and talks to the man's colleague, Dunblane, and also to the widow. As a result two heavies take both Gladys and Trevor's girlfriend Cecile hostage, threatening Trevor also before being routed by Cecile. The English police warn Trevor to stay clear of the investigation, but back in France he is challenged by Sardou to help exonerate the student by dowsing for the alleged toy gun. A witness comes forward who saw the real gun thrown away, and while Sardou and the English police pursue this lead Gladys learns
Episode 2
- Star of Fortune
Sergeant Eavis is investigating a series of zodiac-inspired murders, and his Chief Constable feels they need expert advice. The Chief Constable recruits James Wainwright, an old adversary of Gladys's, while Eavis consults Gladys, setting the two psychics at each other's throats. A TV appearance by Wainwright provokes Gladys into publicly challenging him, and she later goes on to accuse him of the actual murders. However Trevor and Cecile learn that all three victims have in some way wronged a fourth man, Richard Parris, whom Gladys recognises as a man who had come to her earlier for a palm reading, but had scoffed because her conclusions did not match a reading given to him many years before by James Wainwright. This leads her to believe that Wainwright may be the next intended victim. Eavis will no longer listen to her, so she and Trevor resolve to warn Wainwright themselves. Thrown out of his lecture they sneak in through the kitchens and arrive just in time to save him from an e
Episode 3
- G.I. Joe is Missing
French police are looking for a missing Englishman, World War II re-enactor GI Joe Thorpe. Trevor learns Eavis is also involved in the hunt, and Gladys is dragged in when a French private investigator asks her to help him locate the body. This does not go down well with either set of police officers but they agree to allow her to use Joe's jeep for psychometry, even though she does it in front of a local TV news crew. Gladys befriends the parents of the missing man, learning all about his role-playing activities. When Trevor goes to talk to Joe's fellow re-enactors he learns that the man had battled with drug addiction, which is confirmed by his parents. When the private investigator is found murdered, Trevor traces his movements and it begins to seem as if the systematic theft of classic cars is at the root of the mystery, so Trevor and Gladys concoct a scheme to smoke out the thieves. To Sardou's amazement this works, and enables police to follow one of the suspects back to their
Episode 4
- Where No Birds Sing
A metal-detectorist finds a plate with astrological symbols on an ancient site and asks Gladys to help him identify it. His visit is followed by another from a sinister ex-military man asking uncomfortable questions. Gladys enquires into the origins of the plate - for which she has to recruit Trevor, with whom she has fallen out. They arrive at the site to find Eavis dealing with the detectorist's death in a microlight accident. Then Gladys's contact at the local museum is found dead, and Gladys herself is accused of theft. Investigating in an attempt to clear her name, she is taken prisoner by her sinister visitor of earlier. Trevor and Cecile, meanwhile, are looking for a man who was billeted locally during the War; it seems the local people are covering up after a massacre of escaping German POWs, whose bodies are buried at the archaeological site. Trevor rushes to rescue Gladys, but her kidnapper is shot dead by the elderly officer he has been trying to protect.
Episode 5
- The Horns of Capricorn
In a lonely area Cecile is the victim of an attack which Sardou believes may have been carried out by a serial killer he is trying to trace. Shortly afterwards a beachcomber stumbles on the body of a further victim and sees a man running away; Cecile, however, is unable to pick him out of an identity parade and the man denies attacking her. Trying to track down Cecile's attacker Trevor borrows astrological software from a business rival of Gladys's, and although Sardou is scornful at first it emerges that Trevor has produced some useful information enabling Eavis to tie the attacks in France with a further one in England. Cecile returns to Folkestone with the Moons, ostensibly to forget about her experience. However when Gladys helps her to focus on a minor detail about the man – he had half of one finger missing – it puts Sardou on the trail of a previous suspect, who is currently stalking Cecile in England. Although the man succeeds in luring her to an isolated spot, Trevor arrive
