Father Derbyshire and Dr. Bill Barker sit down with Dr. Debra Peppers host of "Outreach Connection" Dr. Bill Barker is the Executive Director of Horizons Social Services of Adams County, Inc. He and his wife Sara have one son, Aidin. The Barker Family worships at LifePoint Bible Church. In his work for Horizons, Bill oversees the strategic planning, fundraising, grant-writing, staff oversight and management, and the networking and recruiting of area churches and volunteers. Reverend Bill Barker also takes the time to greet each and every person coming in during the Horizon Outreach Ministry free lunch an offshoot of the former Salvation Army soup kitchen that closed in late 2007 in the Quincy Illinois area. The meals offered for free have served up to 112 in one day. More than 350 volunteers from the participating church work with Horizons each month.

Care Net Pregnancy Services in Quincy Illinois organized an interdenominational "Light Up the Night" demonstration, where participants lit up 833 luminaries or candles to memorialize the number of abortions that were expected to take place during just one week. The event was held one day prior to the federal observance of the birthday of civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. Laura Willing states "We need to help people understand this is not a religious thing, it's a civil rights issue – the right to live,"

Dr. Debra Peppers host of "Outreach Connection", sits down with JoHanna Schumake and her Father Lindell Schumake. Lindell has gone to the Philippines eighteen times and is planning another trip soon he discusses this as well as the prison and jail ministry calling he has done since 1976. Lindell Shumake would appear later in the season during an August program alongside Andrew Pham to discuss his Vietnam mission trips and serving in the U.S. army.

Bajo Jecminica - "Reason For Hope" ministries from Cameron, Missouri sits down with Dr. Debra Peppers on the Outreach connection program. A few months after the television program was aired Bajo passed away on August 2, 2009. Bajo tells his story when he was 22 years old he was forced to leave Yugoslavia due to a federal judge who ordered him to leave and never return. He states “The reason for his doing this was because I was adamant that communism was an evil system. In 1969, I set out for the United States of America and settled in Cleveland, Ohio, where I lived for the next 12 years. I spent my free time learning the English language so I could work and relate with others and succeed in this new country.”

Janet Veach: Director of Public Relations and Teresa Taylor from the Quincy Illinois area Alzheimer’s Association sit down with Dr. Debra Peppers on the Outreach Connection Program. The Alzheimer's Association's annual Memory Walk The winning nursing home receives a traveling trophy to keep for a year. After the episode aired it was learned that The defending champ is Sunset Home, which raised $2,218 in 2009. That figure was part of the $30,753 raised toward programs and materials the Quincy Area Branch provides for the five-county area it covers. Caregivers and family members of those with Alzheimer's in Adams, Hancock, Brown, Pike and Schuyler counties are the chief beneficiaries. Janet Veach, who is the manager of the Quincy Area Branch and director of public relations director for the Central Illinois Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, says staff members at the nursing homes come up with all sorts of often-unique fundraising schemes. Theresa Taylor, unit coordinator of the Alzheimer's residence at Sunset Home, says being part of the defending nursing home champion is nice, but the reason for the contest should not be forgotten. "We're delighted to be the defending champion, but raising money for the Memory Walk is the most important thing," Taylor said. "It's nice to see how this has grown over the years and that more nursing homes are taking part. Taylor said part of Sunset's fundraising efforts this year included bed races along with raffling a scooter donated by Traeder's TNT.

Dan Bock from Heartland discusses the support and upcoming Midwest event on July 3 and 4 2009 called "Charlie's Holliday" Heartland Community and Ozark are celebrating 45 years of helping people celebrate financial security finding a new life in God and a fresh start. "Charlie's Holliday" is an expansion of the annual Heartland Open house normally held in October. Heartland Academy Community Church with Pastor Charles Sharpe also has a TV ministry airing on the Christian Television Network Affiliate WTJR in Quincy, IL. Since 1996 Heartland offers schooling through their Heartland Christian Academy it is in the private Christian education category and ranges from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Additionally a two-year Christian College program is available. Daniel appeared later the following year with Dr. Peppers on the Outreach Connection program in June 2010.

14 July 2009 - Christian Prison ministry
Pastor Wendell McCombs from Burlington Iowa Jail Ministry for Jesus and Mark Wheeler from Harmony Baptist association Ministries sit down with Dr. Debra Peppers on the Outreach connection program. Jail Ministry for Jesus or JMJ, was co-founded in 2002, and is a non-profit interdenominational organization benefiting the "lost world of the incarcerated and their families". Co-founders are Pastor Wendell and Rev. Denette McCombs of La Harpe. The organization specializes in serving county jails and prisons through ministry, training and licensing people. It currently serves a tri-state area of Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri with 23 licensed ministers. Locally, they are serving 11 facilities: Illinois State Prisons, State Prison Work Camps, Youth Detention Centers, Halfway Houses and County Jails. All members of the organization are volunteers and receive no income from the organization. Pastor Wendell McCombs appeared the following year on the Outreach Connection Program with Dr. Peppers in September 2010.

Dr. Debra Peppers and guest Tom Cheshire from Springfield, Illinois discuss His ministry "Relevant Practical Ministry For Men" Tom Cheshire is the Lead Servant working with Jan Cheshire his wife. Tom served in the United States Marines from 1976-1980 beginning a career in corporate aviation from 1980 until 2002. Tom has been in men's ministry really all his life, but has been in leadership in both his church as the lay men's leader and in the Springfield and Central IL community for over a decade. Tom is a field trainer for man In The Mirror; Men's Ministry Coach for the National Coalition of Men's Ministry, Charter member of, and in the leadership of the National Conference Ministry Iron Sharpens Iron. Tom is also a leader and trainer for the men's curriculum Men's Fraternity. Tom is the former President and co-founder of Business Men in Christ (BMIC) located in Springfield IL. Tom founded Relevant, Practical Ministry for Men designed to come along side pastor's, leadership, and men to help equip them to disciple. The program also establishes or re-creates a sustainable disciple-making ministry in their local churches.

Karen Buckwalter and Angel Knoverek came representing "Chaddock", a home for children with problems that is faith based from here in Quincy, Illinois. They appeared on the "Outreach Connection" show with Dr. Debra Peppers. Chaddock is on the cutting edge of residential treatment for children who have experienced severe abuse, neglect, or other trauma in their early years of development, and is nationally-respected for the excellent results demonstrated in our Developmental Trauma and Attachment Program (DTAP). Many of the children in this program are adopted by loving families, but the unresolved issues from their early childhood prevent them from forming loving, nurturing relationships.

Dr. Debra Peppers, host of the "Outreach Connection" show sits down with Author Tass Abu Saada. Tass Abu Saada was born a Muslum but now serves Jesus. He has written a book called "Born To Kill Jews". Tass Abu Saada, also authored the book "Once An Arafat Man", he used to believe that a good Jew was a dead Jew. His hatred was so strong he dreamed of poisoning Jews who frequented the restaurant where he worked. In 1974, Tass came to the United States. He found Americans generally to be loving and caring, completely opposite of what he had been taught, so he decided to stay by marrying an American girl (Karen). He became very successful in the hotel and restaurant business and became an American citizen in 1979. Following a radical conversion experience in 1993, he became a Christian and now has a ministry in Jericho reaching out to children, with a vision to start a kindergarten in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City.

25 August 2009 - Pastors Andrew Pham and Lindell Shumake
Dr. Debra Peppers, host of the "Outreach Connection" show sits down with Pastor Schumake from Hannibal Missouri and Pastor Pham with a church in Chicago Illinois who worked together in Vietnam. Lindell Shumake and his wife named Lydia and two daughters Johanna and Lizzie. He was ordained to the gospel ministry in 1974 and has spent a good portion of his life doing the Lord's work also leaving home in 1969 to go to Vietnam serving in the U.S. army. Lindell has been on 19 mission trips to the Philippines and other Asian countries. Also, we went to China 9 years ago to adopt his daughter, Johanna. Pastor Andrew Pham of the Vietnamese Faith Community in the Baptist General Conference Denomination worked with Pastor Lindell in Vietnam several years prior.

Richard Cottrell from Clarksville Missouri sits down with Dr. Debra Peppers on the "Outreach Connection" show. Richard is the owner of one of the oldest houses on record in Missouri’s river front town Clarksville. Richard also an artist and avid antique collector is now in the process of undertaking the task of restoring the Hezekiah Elgin House. The Hezekiah Elgin House History starts with The Elgin family in Pike County when William Elgin bought a 3,000-acre Spanish Tract in 1816. He opened a trading post and built one of the first roads between St. Louis and Clarksville. He also built the Elgin Opera House and Hotel, both of which were destroyed by fire in the late 1800's. Because of the small number of residents of this home over the years, the house has had minimal changes, making it one of Missouri's most intact homes of its type and period.

The Reverend sits down for an interview to discuss the not-for-profit program that just started its 11th year with a larger number of hungry people to feed and a drop in the donations of food and money that make it all possible. Pastor Pashia says “We’re serving 100 people a night” and his ultimate goal is to open a homeless shelter and kitchen. That would also enable the program to receive bulk food from the Missouri food kitchen for the homeless and those in need.

15 September 2009 - Deb Bowen – Holocaust Literacy Project
Dr. Debra Peppers Television host for "Outreach Connection" sits down with Deb Bowen of Aledo Illinois began a Holocaust literacy project in the Quad Cities in 2002. The vision began when she met three Jewish survivors from the area – each named Esther. To keep their stories alive, she networked with the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities, the Midwest Writing Center and area teachers. Survivors spoke in schools and students were asked to write and illustrate the story in a simple children's story book form. Deb is a writer and active member of the Quad Cities literary community, including the BiState Literacy Council and Midwest Writing Center Most recently Deb serve as the program manager of " A BOOK BY ME : Holocaust We Will Never Forget" on behalf of the Jewish Federation of the Quad Cities and the Holocaust Education Board, a student literacy project.

Heart to Heart Community Outreach, Inc. is a 501 (c) 3, non-profit corporation providing service to those in need. Chartered in 2009, Heart to Heart Community Outreach, Inc. is supported by churches, businesses, community groups, and individuals in local communities of Pike County. The people that Heart to Heart Community Outreach helps are families, individuals, single parents, children, and the elderly, all who may be living on fixed incomes. People with disabilities and people who have lost their jobs and are out of work temporarily. Project Santa and the Christmas shoe boxes are stuffed with items and given to the community for the groups of people in need.

Veterans Victorious is a program of Addicts Victorious International Ministries is an all inclusive outreach to those men and women from all ranks and branches of service - Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy, US Coast Guard and Merchant Marine. Dr. Debra Peppers had the "Machine Gun Preacher" as a guest on the "Outreach Connection" show along with his helper Chris. Sam Childers rescues children abducted in Southern Sudan and Northern Uganda from the Lord's Resistance Army. He has also written a book called "Another Mans War". Sam Childers is a former drug dealing gang biker who dedicated his life and resources to rescue children in the war zone of Sudan. Childers and his wife Lynn founded and operate Angels of East Africa, the Children’s Village Orphanage in Nimule, Sudan, where they currently have more than 300 children in their care. Only a few months after the episode aired on WTJR (Christian Television Network) Lionsgate announced it acquired North American distribution rights to create a major motion picture to the fact-based action drama Machine Gun Preacher, directed by Marc Forster

Dr. Debra Peppers, host of the "Outreach Connection" show interviews Musician and guitarist Stoney Ferguson. Stoney Ferguson is also from St. Louis, Missouri like Dr. Peppers and is beginning his own Television program ministry on the Christian Television Network affiliate in Quincy Illinois titled “Open Heaven”. “Open Heaven” with Pastor Mark and Jill Sheppard also features Pastor Stoney Ferguson and his music ministry. Stoney brings his 6 string Cutaway dreadnought guitar on the set with Dr. Peppers and plays her a song during the later part of the program. He has released a CD titled "From Glory To Glory" and has more to come. Stoney and his wife Angie have four children.

08 December 2009 - The Chosen Ones
Dr. Debra Peppers, host of the "Outreach Connection" show interviews "The Chosen Ones" group from Manchester Illinois. Gracen is the newest member of the group, Debra Encourages Gracen to sing live. Their parents who are part of the group were not able to attend the filming. Band members present are Tressa Rueter, Brady Rueter, Mariah Lomelino with Gracen on his Mother’s lap. Gracen blessed us with a song and so did the adults singing uplifting Southern Gospel music. The family performs over 160 concerts a year and travel thousands of miles across the United States sharing their unique style of Progressive Southern Gospel at churches, revival meetings, city homecomings and fairs and have been featured on Gospel Music Television. They have also partnered with Compassion International, an international ministry that sponsors children in third world countries, helping to feed, clothe and most importantly, introduce them to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Chosen Ones are the host of one of Illinois’ most popular Southern Gospel concert events, the Manchester Music Festival, an annual outdoor event in the middle of August. They have also been a vital part of Magnify Ministries and have recently joined the performing roster of the Mid America Gospel Music Association.

Russell gives his chilling testimony of being abused as a young child and overcoming that obstacle. Russell and Debbie would later appear in another interview on the "Outreach Connection" program the following year.

She participates as a lay counselor at her church.
