At the middle of the 40's, the Japanese surrendered and Hong Kong was restored after the painful war of three years and eight months. The society was still in a mess since the three leading clans among the crime syndicates were seizing for spheres of power and influence by hook or by crook. LOK CHUNG HING's follower AH WING was in indignation with CHOW HIN's clan. Since WING was under the protection of LUK HOI, the one in charge of CHUNG HING LAU, misunderstanding occurred between CHOW's clan and LOK's clan. CHOW HIN would not submit. He knocked LOK's son CHUN WAH seriously for revenge. Fortunately HONG KWAN, the adopted son of LOK saved him in time. CHOW ordered his followers to make trouble at the theatres and restaurants of LOK. LOK urgently called for a meeting of the four leading clans. He suggested making a deal of 'No bloodsheds' among the clans'. CHOW wanted the life of WING for compromise……

LOK got the message that the godfather of Shanghai Clan TANG PUI YUE was planning to expand his sphere of influence in Hong Kong. He went to probe the motives of TANG who was not threatened by LOK's name. WA BILL was promoted Senior Inspector. He exploited his office to force LOK to buy a number of Japanese rifles. LOK decided to smuggle the guns out to the high seas. Unexpectedly, the guns were robbed by the followers of NG YAT TIN on the way. KWAN was also injured. LOK, regarding the matter as serious, asked KWAN and HOI to start investigation. LOK and his wife MANG HA went together with their followers to the church to ask for blessing on their wedding anniversary. There KWAN first encountered with a nurse SHI MAY and he was attracted by her instantly. MANG HA collapsed during the Silver Anniversary celebration party. All were worrying about her and LOK tendered her all night……

22 July 1985 - Episode 3
KWAN was chasing after YAT TIN closely. Under no circumstances, TIN approached PUI YUE for help. PUI YUE was very angry and threatened LOK by withdrawing large amount of money from his bank. Lastly, LOK promised to forget everything. After attending KWAN's celebration banquet, LAM JOE's friends invited him to join them for fever. JOE refused due to his lonely character. On his way, he met a dancing girl PAK FU YUNG who quarreled with a driver about the fare. JOE paid him at once. FU YUNG intended to pay him back with her body but was rejected. He impressed her. One day, FU YUNG was being caught by police and she jumped into PUI YUE's car. PUI YUE found that she looked familiar. FU YUNG was embarrassed and left quickly. SHI MEI's moneybox was being seized by rascals during fund-raising activity. Fortunately, HONG KWAN was able to catch them but was hurt. SHI MEI worried. KWAN proposed for a dating but he couldn't make it at last……

23 July 1985 - Episode 4
LOK saved MANG HA. He suspected HONG KWAN was involved in the kidnap and arranged to kill him. After escaping from danger, KWAN questioned LOK. LOK finally understood he was being set up and was impressed by KWAN's gratefulness. On the other hand, LOK discovered LUK HOI revolted against him gradually, and decided to test him. LOK lied that because of his poor health, he would leave his business to HONG KWAN and LUK HOI. CHUN WAH did not submit. KWAN visited LOK in hospital and met SHI MEI who was looking after LOK. KWAN apologized to her but was being sneered. LOK told KWAN and HOI to deal with an illegal selling of silver coin. At the same time, he arranged someone to rob it. YAT TIN thought it was done by HOI and both turned against each other. Later, HOI realized where the coins were and was bribed over by CHEUNG KIN LEUNG to keep the secret.

In order to offer SHI MAY an apology, HONG KWAN broadcast her most favorite movie in a cinema. Unexpectedly, WAN CHI came and had intimacy actions to KWAN. MAY felt distasteful and left. Afterwards, KWAN explained to her and improved their relationship. CHUN WAH by chance discovered that SZE KWAI was delivering silver coins. He thought that they were belonged to his father, he seized away. By making a compromise, LOK and KWAI came to a more friendly relation. LOK decided to send WAH to manage his overseas business so as to avoid him from creating troubles. PUI YUE and FU YUNG in fact had a subtle relation long time ago. When they met again, YAT TIN tried to persuade YUNG to be with YUE again. However, YUNG refused and wanted to earn the living by herself. YAT TIN made use of YUNG to distract YUE's attention; he joined together with LUK HOI and CHEUNG KIN LEUNG to kill LOK……

LOK believed that betrayer should be dead and ordered HONG KWAN to kill LUK HOI. KWAN refused and felt LOK was cruel, he left home angrily. On the other hand, YAT TIN escaped. He tried to kill LUK as he thought who had betrayed him. KWAN failed to save LUK, MANG HA was sad. LOK believed that HONG KWAN was an energetic guy, he persuaded him to return in person. Though KWAN disagreed with this attitude, he helped LUK to revenge on YAT TIN due to their father and son relationship. YAT TIN was pursued by HONG KWAN and seriously hurt. At the last moment, he went to PUI YUE for help. PUI YUE wanted to start a new life with FU YUNG and left from clans struggle. He told TIN to look for PEDDAR. YAT TIN liked to flatter people and pleased PEDDAR so much. He also knew a gangster KNOR. KNOR admired TIN's bravery and intelligence, and decided to keep him as one of his man, so that he could start the battle with LOK……

When CHUN WAH was having transport of goods, he met pirate and the goods were all robbed away. Luckily, LAM JOE helped him to return to Hong Kong. WAH was ashamed and had grievances towards LOK. LOK claimed to him that he didn't have any prejudice against him and encouraged him working hard for his business. YAT TIN was not glad of LOK being exalted in the upper class society. He sent his follower FUNG TAK to disclose LOK's infamous act in public and put it in newspaper. LOK recognized and used any means to change it. YAT TIN was driven mad. HONG KWAN was furious and questioned FUNG TAK who was the person in the backstage. TAK asked KWAN CHI to help who pleaded with LOK for mercy. LOK promised not to press TAK anymore. In order to expand his attack to LOK, YAT TIN made use of his relation with WAH BILL to take in LOK's sphere. However, BILL didn't move and TIN was angry……

29 July 1985 - Episode 8
MA KING YEE pursued SZE HO, she met LAM JOE and KUEN. JOE brought her to find UNCLE NG for help. Unexpectedly, JOE was kidnapped. HONG KWAN saved him out from danger and MA KING YEE was shot to death. YAT TIN intended to deal in heroin business. He used a good amount of profit to make WAH BILL to be his partner. BILL could not resist again the temptation and joined in plotting treason. On the other hand, a singer in Chung Hing Lau, SIU YUK, was asked to entertain PEDDAR. PEDDAR had an intention of maltreatment, SIU YUK was beaten seriously. LOK didn't have any concrete evidence and could not restrain him by law. CHUM WAH and SIN MEI were being drawn into a conspiracy of drug trafficking. LOK investigated and found out that YAT TIN did it. He ordered HONG KWAN to exterminate all drug traffickers and told WAH BILL to leave for a moment……

30 July 1985 - Episode 9
YAT TIN realized that his position in the clans' world was no longer existing. He pleased LOK to co-operate with him in trading drugs. LOK refused. TIN then made use of CHUN WAH's weakness to convince him to work together. TIN finally was disappointed when he found that WAH didn't have any actual power. YAT TIN knew that NGOR fell in love with a dancer SIU LAN FONG. He created a chance for him; NGOR was impressed and accepted TIN's order of assassinating HONG KWAN. SHI MAY was unease with KWAN's job, she questioned LOK about that. LOK frankly admitted that both him and KWAN were related to clan society. MAY was in a great shock. When MAY was leaving in grieve, KWAN came and explained. At the same time, NGOR disguised as a Father and killed KWAN. MAY was shot when she was trying to protect KWAN.

31 July 1985 - Episode 10
MAY was seriously hurt and sent to hospital. LOK worried very much and visited secretly. After certain understanding, LOK fell in love with her. He subtly expressed his love to her. MAY was confused. KUEN admired SIU LAN FONG, he always went to her night-club. One day, PEDDAR also came and was in conflict with KUEN because of FONG. FU YUNG failed to settle the dispute. KUEN took away FONG. PEDDAR didn't submit and asked YAT TIN to seize her back. MANG HA discovered that LOK and MAY were getting along closely. She questioned LOK but LOK lied to her. MANG HA then went to persuade SHI from doing so which made her embarrassed. When HA realized that KWAN and MAY were turning cold shoulder against each other, she used every means to make them together again. Being encouraged by MANG HA, KWAN revealed his love to SHI MAY and claimed that he wouldn't mind her relation with LOK. MAY didn't want to take the insult, she ran away……

Episode 11 In order to get more evidence of PEDDAR, LOK used every way to save SIU LAN FONG and her colleagues also tried their best to procure money for medical fee. After FONG was awake, she reported to the police and disclosed PEDDAR's disgraceful conduct to the press. PEDDAR had to kill her. YAT TIN sent NGOR to kill FONG. NGOR then realised that he had killed FONG, the one he loved. He questioned TIN, TIN lied that he was innocent in order to pacify his anger. On the other hand, TIN bought over the doctor on duty, claiming that FONG committed suicide because of illness. When YAT TIN tried to destroy the dead body, KWAN arrived and stopped it. TIN then discovered that SHI MAY had witnessed everything. He had to kill her. Luckily, KWAN protected her from danger. LOK disclosed PEDDAR's wrong doings to the press, and asked WAH BIU to send out his arrest warrant. PEDDAR tried to run away……

02 August 1985 - Episode 12
TIN became the director of Patterson. He threw in a banquet for the celebration. In the banquet, he ran into SIN MEI. He was so attracted by her beauty and was very kind to her. They became attracted to each other. CHUN WAH observed the scene and was very jealous. LOK was not pleased with WAH's drinking. TIN tried to use his medicine trading business to smuggle heroin, but he had no opportunity. He then made WAH to become addicted and forced him to lead him to CHUENG KIN LEUNG and SI KWAI so that they could be in the business together. LOK was angry to have learnt that WAH was addicted to heroin and forced him to quit the habit. He also led KWAN to set a trap to kill KWAI and TING. LOK's inability to forget SHI MAY had made her feel very uncomfortable. Eventually, she had the courage to disclose her heart to LOK. He saw that MAY and KWAN were made for each other and withdrew from the relationship……

In order to compensate to KWAI's and TING's families, LOK gave part of his business to the two families. KWAI's son HOK YAU was still not happy with the arrangement and went for LOK's revenge. TIN manipulated YAU to act on BILL's banquet. KWAN stopped him and time and LOK escaped safely. YAU became insane and killed himself because he failed in his many attempts to kill LOK. TIN took the chance to blame on LOK, making the two families to hate LOK more. In order to get away from work, KWAN and MAY went to the outlying islands for a secret vacation. They met CHAN CHUEN who started a revolution. LOK took action immediately to pacify the turbulence. He rebuked KWAN's irresponsible act. KWAN disagreed with LOK's behavior and determined to develop his own business. On the other hand, YAT TIN wanted to draw near to KWAN and lied that he was already on his side.

06 August 1985 - Episode 14
KWAN didn't want to be set up by TIN, he questioned him. TIN provoked him to kill one of his followers and took photos. He used the photos to threaten for his co-operation, KWAN agreed reluctantly. In order to let LOK believed that KWAN had betrayed him; TIN forced him to tell the whereabouts of the illegal good. He also sent NGOR to watch him out. KWAN was clever and asked LAM JOE to notify LOK. TIN's plan was failed and had to hand out all negatives. LOK restored his confidence in KWAN. When LAM JOE and TAY were having wedding ceremony, SZE HO sent her men to catch JOE back to Macau. JOE could not resist to temptation and promised HO's request. YAT TIN did not submit and reported to police to bring KWAN into trouble. KUEN immediately brought KWAN to JOE's home. However, BILL discovered and arrested him.
Episode 15
07 August 1985 - Episode 15
KWAN was put in prison. LOK was ashamed and bailed KWAN out to wait for judgment. KWAN by chance discovered the story of his real father TING SHAN. SHAN and his wife MAN eloped to Hong Kong. They met LOK and LUK HOI. Three of them joined together to set up their own business. Afterward, they were appreciated by LAW KIN and became his followers. They incidentally got a batch of arms and decided to have their own clan. It was recognized by WAH BILL who compelled one of them to confess. LOK's private interest made him to set SHAN up. SHAN was shot to death. MAN was distressed and committed suicide. For these years, LOK still regretted in mind. After KWAN knew the truth, he was disheartened. He determined to leave during the wedding of CHUN WAH and SIN MEI. However, WAH BILL discovered and chased after the two. CHUN WAH was shot when he tried to protect KWAN.

KWAN failed to escape and hid in JOE's house. He was in grief after he confirmed the death of WAH. MANG HA was distressed of losing her own son and thought of death. She became calmer after being comforted by her family. On the other hand, LOK believed that WAH's death was due to KWAN. He sent his followers to get him back for revenge. KWAN had got much hatred around in Hong Kong. He approached JOE for help who suggested him to stay in Macau. KWAN tried to visit SHI MAY in hospital before he left. WAH BILL had sent his people in hospital to watch over and caught KWAN on spot. KWAN requested WAH BILL bring him to CHUN's tablet and had a bow. LOK questioned him the truth. KWAN was angry to disclose the disgraceful act of LOK who was speechless.

09 August 1985 - Episode 17
YAT TIN bribed over the police and made a false accusation on KWAN. KWAN was put in prison and waited for sending out the boundary. When LAM JOE tried to set him free, KWAN had already been sent to somewhere else. KUEN finally realized that KWAN was detained on an island, JOE and his men went there at once. JOE could not find KWAN on the island and thought he was dead. In fact, KWAN was seized by pirate and asked to one of their followers. LOK recognized that YAT TIN did all things, he regretted. He and KWAN CHI set up a company to lament for KWAN and CHUN WAR SHI MAY was also in distress. YAT TIN started wooing SIN MEI again who promised to his proposal. KWAN CHI objected their marriage due to CHUN WAH had died not so long ago. Though HONG KWAN was given important position, he disagreed with pirate's behavior. He decided to run away with the help of his friend HO YEUT TUNG.

12 August 1985 - Episode 18
LAM was wandering around in Macau, he determined to return to Hong Kong for further development. However, SZE HO used senior position in casino in order to keep him stay. JOE accepted. KWAN fled to Macau and met LAM JOE and KUEN. JOE asked KWAN to work with him but KWAN only wanted to leave the clan society and led a peaceful life with SHI MAY. In order to keep KWAN pay attention to his work, JOE stopped the communication between MAY and KWAN. After JOE had taken up the post in casino, he had reorganization. The casino supervisor KAM didn't submit and asked con men to disturb the casino, but it was discovered by KWAN. KAM was very angry and had a strike. LAM JOE was furious and killed KAM. However, KAM wasn't dead and reported to UNCLE KEM. KWAN returned to Hong Kong and found SHI MAY. They got the truth and decided to have a peaceful life in future.

YAT TIN and SIN MEI had a secret vacation in Macau. They met KWAN and MAY. TIN employed somebody to kill KWAN. UNCLE KEM questioned SZE HO about KAM was being hurt. HO was speechless and sent more men to protect LAM JOE. TIN sent his killer to action but failed. HO thought it was UNCLE KEM who revenged on JOE, the hatred between two clans was deepened. In order to pacify their hatred, LAM JOE apologized to KAM. However, KAM pierced in him in order to release his anger. JOE was insulted and swore that he would take revenge on KAM. KWAN realized that TIN would leave for Macau, he sent JOE and KUEN to stop him. However, JOE was being caught by TIN. KWAN tried every means to save JOE.

SHI MAY was disheartened because KWAN didn't leave the clan business completely, she determined to leave him. KWAN was distressed and all the days got drunk. In order to upgrade his position in the society, he disclosed to KWAN CHI that he had slept with SIN MEI. CHI was angry and agreed to their marriage. With the help from SZE HO, JOE's business was getting better which made him become snobbish. KUEN was dissatisfied with his behavior. He brought JOE'S mother and TAY to Macau to disclose his relationship with SZE HO. JOE's mother raged and told JOE to swear that he would look after TAY. JOE dared not to say a word. WAN CHI was very sad, as she believed that KWAN was dead. After SHI MAY told her that KWAN was still alive, she hurried to Macau and revealed her love to him. KWAN was drunken and recognized wrongly WAN CHI as SHI MAY, they slept together.

KWAN awoke and regretted to his wrongful at. He told WAN CHI he would compensate her. WAN CHI sneered. KAM deliberately hurt JOE's reputation by asking for protection fee. JOE got insulted and killed KAM. UNCLE KEM pressed JOE hard but failed as SZE HO protected him. MANG HA was very ill as she had lost his son, and WAN CHI had disappeared. Therefore, LOK went to Macau and persuaded WAN CHI to return home. He promised not to press KWAN anymore. However, after he had discovered the relation between KWAN and CHI, he was angry and forbade they got along together. After YAT TIN married SIN MEI, he became the director of Wah Kwan Co. He misused his power in smuggling of morphine. LOK then forced him to leave the board of directors. YAT TIN was furious and kidnapped LOK, compelling him to do co-operate with him. Everybody was eager about LOK's disappearance, they requested KWAN to return and discuss.

HONG KWAN suspected that LOK was being kidnapped by YAT TIN. He hinted to KWAN CHI the conspiracy of TIN. KWAN CHI was very angry but there was nothing he could do. LOK swore that he wouldn't draw near to TIN. TIN sent him to Macau and detained a room. He arranged NGOR to look over his every move. KWAN didn't have idea to save LOK, he asked MANG HA to approach TIN. HA promised everything to TIN, TIN brought her to Macau to see LOK. When they arrived, Tin's follower saved LOK. TIN caught HA as hostage. LOK sought assistance from JOE and KUEN. Two clans started the battle after TIN had left. LOK disclosed to NGOR that SIU LAN FONG was dead because of YAT TIN

After the reunion of LOK's family, LOK requested KWAN to be his second hand. KWAN refused and LOK was disappointed. JOE'S mother was at ease, as he returned to Hong Kong and stayed with TAY. LOK rewarded JOE by authorizing him more power. WAH BILL had gathered TIN's evidence and gave order to arrest him. KWAN CHI heard it and wanted to restrain him by law. However, SIN MEI pleaded to CHI for mercy. CHI hid the truth. After surmounting numerous difficulties, KWAN intended to apologize to SHI MAY. However, he lacked of courage, SHI MAY was disappointed. WAN CHI discovered that she had KWAN's baby and asked KUEN to help. As KUEN had been admiring her since long time age, he proposed to her. LOK rejected, WAN CHI left home.

20 August 1985 - Episode 24
KUEN brought WAN CHI leave home and secluded in LAM JOE's home. LOK discovered and forced WAN CHI to return. LOK compelling KWAN to marry her, KWAN promised reluctantly. KUEN realized the marriage of KWAN and WAN CHI. He questioned KWAN, which made the situation embarrassed. KUEN misunderstood they were playing on him, he quarreled with KWAN. When the wedding preparation was done in progress, MANG HA was found dead. LOK believed that it was YAT TIN who had threatened HA to death. He decided to avenge on him. As there is no way for escape, YAT TIN entrusted PANG to arrange him for departure. However, out of his expectation, PANG had notified WAR BILL and LOK because of money. YAT TIN was in great danger; he and SIN MEI ran for life. LOK in fact had set a trap to catch them.YAT TIN jumped from the cliff while SIN MEI also fell down.

KONG KWAN was discouraged to the clans' world due to YAT TIN's a miserable end. At the same time, KWAN CHI appreciated his capability. KONG KWAN then requested CHI to arrange him a post of manager in bank. After LAM JOE had got the power in the clan, he felt that he was lack of qualification, which might make him suffer a loss in his business. Therefore, he employed a group of professionals to be his brain trust. It was also a chance to enrich himself for future development. After LOK had killed YAT TIN, his life filled with emptiness. He even lost interest in his supremacy rulership and was depressed. Luckily, SHI MEI comforted him. It improved their relation. WAN CHI had suffered numerous difficulties. She lost a feeling of safeness and urged HONG KWAN to marry her soon. However, KWAN thought career was his first priority and he didn't love her very much. WAN CHI was unease to his unfavorable answer.

Kwan Lee Bank was robbed and HONG KWAN was hurt in turmoil. WAH BILL investigated that it was done by one of the clans and suspected that it was HONG KWAN. KWAN didn't submit and sent his follower LUNG to dig out the truth. LAM JOE didn't have enough capital for his drug business, therefore, he robbed the bank. On the other hand, JOE wanted to extend his sphere by taking over YAT TIN's area. He was showing his power to LOK. HONG KWAN found that JOE did the robbery. He was very angry and argued with him. Finally, they became enemy. KWAN intended to resign. CHI refused and persuaded him not to take it personally. SZE HO was still in love with JOE and forced JOE to marry her. After deep thought, JOE recognized that such marriage could help in his clan's activity. He decided to divorce his wife and leave his mother, so as to marry SZO HO.

WAN CHI understood that HONG KWAN could not forget SHI MAY. She brought up to KWAN for separation and felt helpless. Fortunately, WAN CHI was touched by KUEN's truth love and decided to marry him. LOK was sympathized for the two and agreed to their marriage. SHI MAY thought that HONG KWAN was not responsible to WAN CHI, which made her being alone. She questioned him severely. KWAN could hardly explain but blessed WAN CHI in heart. LAM JOE had married SZE HO. In order to occupy HO's authority, JOE tried to obliterate her adherents. On the other hand, JOE expanded the drug business by sending his followers to get more business anonymously. It made LOK lose confidence in him.

In order to get the trust from LOK, LAM JOE sent his follower to disguise as the contact person on behalf of drug-trafficker. He killed him to show he was innocent and deceived LOK by false pretence. Finally, LOK believed him. LAM JOE tried to distract LOK's attention by providing more chances to meet SHI MAY, so as to improve their relation. However, MAY didn't have the feeling of love towards him which made LOK disappointed. When the police advocated anti-corruption, WAH BILL was be charged of bribery, which was even publicized by press. LOK determined to help leaving Hong Kong at every means and promised to wipe off his charge. HONG KWAN was sick of clans' society and intended to leave Hong Kong as soon as possible. He made his last request to SHI MAY. However, SHI MAY wasn't moved. KWAN was provoked and went to the States.

LAM JOE wanted to eliminate LOK during the wedding of KUEN and WAN CHI. Fortunately, SHI MAY saved LOK from danger and hid in an air-raid shelter. LOK disappeared. LAM JOE compelled LOK's followers to be under him and annexed all his area. LOK recognized JOE's conspiracy; he joined force with his followers to attack JOE. However, his followers had been bought over by JOE, LOK was pursued in return. LOK was afraid that KUEN and WAN CHI would be in danger, he asked SHI MAY to disguise as cleaner and brought them to TSANG's house. SHI MAY missed HONG KWAN very much; she went to see him in the States. LAM JOE sent somebody to follow her and assassinated the both. Finally, MAY was killed. KWAN declared that he would take revenge on JOE.

After HONG KWAN returned to Hong Kong, he questioned JOE. JOE frankly admitted everything. However, due to brotherhood between KWAN and JOE, they didn't want to shoot at each other. It led to a stiff situation. LOK realized JOE's weakness. He tried to get back his followers one by one and forced them to set JOE up. In confusion, JOE was under LOK's control. Later, SZE HO came to pacify the turbulence and told JOE to return to Macau for development. When JOE was aboard, he suddenly changed his mind coming back to Hong Kong for another chance; while LOK and HONG KWAN also arrived. Both parties were now confronting each other, what would be the fate of HONG KWAN, LOK and JOE?
