Biography

Michael Villar was born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania to his mother Susan McMillen Villar and his father, Spanish native, Luis Alberto Villar. As a young boy, he was raised in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, Minnesota and Spain. Michael's brother, David Villar, is also a Los Angeles based actor. Michael graduated from the University of Minnesota where he majored in Film Studies, Film Production and Theater. Villar's first major film was playing the role of Leo Cottrell, opposite Isla Fisher, in the movie "Visions". A year later, in 2016, Villar showed his versatility as an actor at the Sundance Film Festival with two Feature Films. In "Carnage Park", he plays Lenny, a 70's, Ex Con, White Trash, Bank Robber. In "Sleight" he plays Packy, an Urban, Gold-Toothed, Wanna Be Rapper. He has performed in multiple projects with contemporary artist Paul McCarthy, his most memorable playing Grumpy in "White Snow". He has also worked with Oscar Winning director, Guy Nattiv and is one of two actors credited in both productions of "Skin". The powerful short brought home the Oscar in 2019 for Best Live Action Short Film, while the feature film has also won multiple awards. As a character actor, he has had multiple credits in films and television, and thrives in both drama and comedy. Villar currently resides in Los Angeles, California, with his fianceé and fellow thespian, Claudine Claudio.
